About Grayson, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, Grayson is a small city with about 2,700 residents. The population is growing, as only about 750 people resided here in 2000. Getting to Grayson is simple, as Georgia State Route 20 leads five miles into the county seat of Lawrenceville. Loganville and Snellville are also only about five miles away.
Previously known as Trip, the history of Grayson can date back into the early 1820s. Founded by James Patterson McConnell, the community was once referred to as the “Garden Spot of Gwinnet County.” Electricity and natural gas didn’t begin running through the area until 1951, and at that point, more people began moving into the area.
Despite the small size of Grayson, there are several notable businesses here. A variety of restaurants call the community home, including Sam’s On Main, Berens Frozen Custard, and Grayson Coffee House. Local produce is bountiful at the Grayson Farmer’s Market, and locals enjoy the Grayson Blues and Brews Festival, Grayson Day, and other local festivals. Outdoor recreation is available at the City Park Pavilion, which is also the setting for many community events throughout the year.
Weather conditions are varied in Grayson, but the area is well known for its hot and humid summers. Daytime highs often reach into the 90s, but high humidity levels will make it feel even warmer. Residents rely on their central air conditioners to stay cool throughout the season. An Energy Star system will also help homeowners to save money on their monthly utility bills.
Winters in Grayson are pleasant compared to other areas in the U.S. Temperatures are cool, with average January highs in the low-50s. That doesn’t mean that frigid conditions are unheard of, though, as there are many days in which temperatures fall below freezing. The right heat pump or furnace – either gas or electric – will help residents to stay warm regardless of conditions outdoors.
